Do you even wonder anymore why you keep coming back to patchouli? And yes, I know you love sandalwood and one can't forget the highly beloved neroli, but why do we keep coming back to patchouli?
It holds its own very well that is why!
El senior is thick rich and stinky..sounds like a good man to have arround if you ask me but I am just a messenger for the truth.
The truth is that patchouli, pogostemon for short, is in the mint family. It is mostly cultivated for its oil and has been used in perfumery for ages!
It s crushed, steamed and the fermented before they distill it. I believe that this fermentation period gives patchouli so many varieties of scent, from downright intolerable to omg, this is sweet to the core! Of course, you know how your man smells pretty good after he washes with a patchouli infused bar, maybe a little citrus added or what ever you like.
Even as a young budding seedling this plant is smelly. Like thick summer night air, and the sword and how it comes out all bloody, and how it shines for the truth and how acceptance is better and how your own deepest heart's desire is as real as what you are perceiving right now. I have everything, I have everything~
My friend Tonie makes a scrub with ground patchouli leaves and some other botanicals that is wonderful. I strongly suggest you go to mountain Rose Herbs and by a little dried patchouli. Mix it with a little ground lentil and wash...it is wonderful.
Patchouli is Aquarian, maybe. Some astrologers say it is Sagittarius, and one says Pisces... it is watery and it is weird,, earthy, healing and blends well with just about anything you throw at it. I have even seen it mixed with peppermint and why not, they are related.
I love it with neroli of course.
Try a little something with patchouli. Try it with sweet orange or mix it with rose and clove and maybe a drop of nutmeg.
Patchouli is Earth which is connected to or rules money, property and the more sensual side of humane existence, All wealth originally was connected to the earth be it crops from the ground or minerals mined or extracted from the land. Earth plants are of a nourishing nature and or have a connection with the earth or field like root crops, or they may have an earthy smell like the mosses or mushrooms and vetiver.
